About the King William IV Inn

The King Billy, as it is affectionately known, was built during the monarchy of King William IV, who reigned from the 25th June 1830 to June 20th 1837. It was purpose-built by William Brockbank, who was the first owner and licensee.

After major repairs and renovation, the King Billy reopened as the King William IV Inn on the 16th December, 2022 with The new Landlady Sam and Husband Ian,  who are well-known locally for managing the old beach café in Silecroft.

The King Billy is now thriving once more, serving meals and drinks all day from 10 A.M.

Turning Your Special Moments into Lasting Memories

Wow. Been to Millom 3 times over the years and only just found this gem. The lady who’s greeted us and served us, was so friendly and welcoming! We had our 3 whippets and they had a lovely time aswell.
Food was amazing! Absolutely everything we had was delicious. And we were sat by an open fire, what a way to end a long windy and rainy walk.

Simply wow! We’ve visited twice this week, once for breakfast and then for dinner. The service was absolutely superb - we had our dog with us who can be reactive and our wonderful waitress couldn’t do enough for us. Our breakfasts on our first visit were delicious and our evening meals even better.
We hope to be back soon as this place is a hidden gem. Thank you so much for the food and your kindness.

We were cycling on a Tuesday in March and were delighted to find the pub open and serving food. There was a lovely fire and friendly service. We had tea and beans on toast to see us on our way. They also serve proper diners and a good selection of breakfasts. Food served from 10 am.

We visited tonight and had a lovely meal. The staff were really accommodating, explaining the menu - which was a mega menu! We were able to build and customise our food. The food was delicious and all home cooked, the meat all came from the local butchers. We can’t wait to visit again.

What can I say......food fabulous, great atmosphere, and the lady who served us was absolutely lovely. Very friendly and helpful. I had the scampi chips and peas husband had the cheese and onion pie. Great size portions food presented well and hot. I really wanted the brownie for afters but was to full, not a problem, they did me a takeaway and that didn't disappoint either. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely return.
